when my pen hits the paper the world disappears
my power and potence vanish my fears
and i feel my emotions bottled for years
shake and earthquake and erupt into tears
watch the ink blur as they fall and destroy
and leave behind nothing but stains and a void
where i once wrote of pain and excitement and joy
and now im contained as this lighthearted boy
when id like to be something more godly inside
the most powerful optimist ever to rise
omniscient, efficient, infinitely wise
this is the dream my pen leaves behind
