Winter Dressed

Contributed by poorgirl on Friday, 18th February 2005 @ 11:25:55 PM in AEST
Topic: fantasy

The black bones reach
curve and bear to the wind
Stretches out
Each limb a thousand fingers
Hungrily reaching to the sky
That cold heavy, laden gray mat
That fills from horizon
to the ends of place
Chilled to the winter scourge
The Icy hands that grip fast and hold
Everything to the bleak empty scene.

She cries her fearsome shudder
that fills every parched cold blade
that faded brown holds its silence
In this outer grave of decay.
She sweeps down each hill
in the sequence of night
rigid her appearance,
Like a widow wailing her long lost love
She tosses the world around her
Grudging all, any similarities of life
Cold, Staunch, this whisper of death
that sings forever December's song
Winter dressed.

Vivid, haunting images. Beautiful and melancholic. Love the title. Nice Job!
