Living in a glass house Put out on display.
Everybody stopping by While you silentlyhope they'll go away.
No windows, no doors Nowhere to run and hide.
All but light and glass To help others peer inside.
No emotion you can hold For you're just a sight to see.
No one ever dares to enter To get to know who you could really be.
Watching... Waiting...
But they don't ever leave You're beautiful, you're mesmerizing.
You must stay calm while they stare But your emotions are slowly rising.
You can't stay bottled up But they'll never let you alone.
Cause everyone's always watching Looking through your glass home.
Don't say a word, Don't take a breath, You must stand still,
Watching... Waiting...
For Death.

Well, the ending was blunt. Knocked kinda ajar there, but thats not really a bad thing. I like the whole theme to it. Pretty nifty. |

I agree w/ Mangs, this does put a different perspective to life but sometimes looking at things differently can set you free. Great write. |

Whoa. What a solid ending here! The repetition was well constructed and that ending was just outstanding. The metaphor you've used is really superb too, I was expecting it to take a different turn with the idea of a glass house, with a heavier (and sadly traditional) theme of something that would shatter in an instant. lol i'm glad I wasnt reading a poem like that though. This was really a great piece. |
