You cried, So did I.
I heard you, Didnt you hear me?
I heard you cry when I ran away, Mom.
But if you werent lying when you said,
All you want is for me to be alive,
Then you should be happy,
Cause I had to get away from you to survive.
You dont listen when I say
I love you.
You dont listen when I explain
How the kids make fun of me.
You dont listen when I spill
All my thoughts and feelings to you.
You dont listen.
You dont see me when I run
Up to my room, away from the hate.
You dont see me when I cry
Waterfalls moving faster than a storm from my eye.
You dont see when I cut
Digging the knife deeper in my skin for everything youve said.
You never see.
You cant feel what I feel
When you tell me Im worthless.
You cant feel what I do
When Dad picks me up and throws me against the wall.
You cant feel what I feel
When I watch Emily and Adrik crying themselves to sleep.
You dont feel it.
I heard you cry when I ran away, Mom.

| what i really like about your poetry, isnt your concepts, your endings, or even how you write. its the fact it looks like you care to get poetry right on a professional level. a lot of people that are your age, almost 15, according to your account page, could care less about correct grammar, punctuation, spelling, and even correct capitalization. that makes you look professional and better to the literate. but as for this poem in particular. i liked the concept very much so, ending, substance, etc. nothing not to like. |
