Why'd it happen?
I was on the top,
everything goin my way,
I was looked up to,
nothin could slow me down
from makin my way up......
I had no idea,
my next decision would change my life,
but slowly it unraveled right before my eyes.
Then slowly I was slippin,
I was trippin,
and I couldn't believe where I was headed.
I did not know what to do,
I could not hear my guidance anymore......
Why'd it have to happen like this,
it started with just one kiss.
I was lost in cries
for help for someone to save me
I was goin down
and no one head my cries,
I couldn't get back out.
Then slowly I was slippin,
I was trippin,
and I couldn't believe where I was headed,
I didn't know what to do,
I couldn't hear my guidance anymore,
Why'd it have to happen like this,
it started with just one kiss.
It seemed great at the moment,
I had so many problems anyway.
How could this hurt me,
would it change anything,
I couldn't go any deeper than I was,
I was wrong.
Then slowly I was slippin,
I was trippin,
and I couldn't believe where I was headed,
I didn't know what to do,
I couldn't hear my guidance anymore,
Why'd it have to happen like this,
it started with just one kiss.
Then I found how to fix it,
there was only one choice,
to break free of these problems,
to let go of disgrace,
He had taken everything,
He knew I would do,
He bore it all on the cross,
because he knew what he had to do.
So it's not goin down farther,
He pulled me back up,
I'm no longer wondering why it happened like this,
cause I'm tellin my story of how Christ picked me up,
dusted every inperfectoin from my life,
Oh he cleaned me up.
Why'd it happen like this,
How'd I get myself down,
Why'd He take such a sinner,
and take their place?

I play keyboard and my friend plays guitar I have the tune I just have to write it down so she can play it! |
