Giving Up On Love

Contributed by BrokenAngel on Saturday, 26th February 2005 @ 08:24:38 PM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

I gave my heart away
And I never got it back
He broke it into tiny pieces
And wont fix it

He told me he loved me
I thought he cared
But now the truth has come to my attention
It was all an act

I'm giving up on trying
To love someone
Because all it does
Is hurt me

Great poem that I can really relate to. It's hard trusting someone after you have been hurt so badly. Try not to let your ex ruin your next relationship.

It is not love that hurts us. It is our emotions surrounding love that hurt us. People mis-use and abuse the word love and emotional impact of saying "I Love You" all to much. Dont let the mis-treatment of one person change the way you look at love. No two people are the same. Tell yourself he only loved to say he loved you. The next one will Love you and it will be from the heart. Where it should be from.

Majestic_Poet.. Read my Poem "I Must Leave You" And see how love is hurting me :(

nice write...but dont give up.....as someone wisely said...how will u explore the faraway seas if you dont have courage to lose sight of the shore?....everyone gets hurt...sometime or the other...but the goal is to learn and not shut everyone out....

It sucks when someone hurts you, but that doesn't mean you should give up on love. There's always something you learn from each love you have. It makes us stronger in the end. Something to consider :-)

You know you are very young, and this happens to us all at this age. This will happen so many time's in life to so many people. The best thing to do is to just look the other way, and mend your feelings the best way you can. Just never give up on love, cause the right one is out there waiting for you. Excellent poem.
