Unwanted Resentment

Contributed by Jason_Robert_Britt on Sunday, 21st July 2002 @ 09:28:26 AM in AEST
Topic: AngryPoetry

Unwillingly born, and choiceless in the matter, our destines are foretold; a steep downward spiral, slipping into inescapable decomposition. Oh! what a fatal twist to the plot that is life!
What crime does befit this punishment, this torture that is knowledge of death? What evil deed did my soul perform to be caged in this cell of empty dreams?
The very womb that did birth me, betrayed me, for not through my own lips did I consume of the friut, but for my parent's hunger was I condemed to die. I am the result of their feeding, the seed of their passion. This flesh. This blood. This friut of my very own, cursed with temptation of pleasure and pain; two who hold hands like young lovers laughing triumphantly.
Maybe this is why Christ died for me? This genetic dysfunction that I did not ask to inherit - emotion! Maybe I am innocent in the eyes of my maker?
Ha! Innocence does not exist! Ignorrance only, for we are born with emotions of love and hate, of jealousy and sexuality. Mischevious from the start, we are never truely innocent of our sins, only unaware of them as so.
Shall I be grateful for this wild experiance, or resentful of the injustice that is time? Or can my emotions co-exist, benefiting in an ultimate understanding of the chaos that is life?
Tune in next week...............................

it is very in your face as u said but its not to in your face for me
all that u have written is true
maybe people just dont want to accept or maybe they just cannot see it
there are so many parts of this poem which i feel are my favourite words/verses
"Innocence does not exist! Ignorrance only, for we are born with emotions of love and hate, of jealousy and sexuality. Mischevious from the start, we are never truely innocent of our sins, only unaware of them as so. "
very powerful statement that was
and this
"The very womb that did birth me, betrayed me"
that really got me coz i feel like that too
