I believe I know the real you,
the one they do not see
I think I see another side
that you'd never hide from me
Maybe it's not so different,
only a jaded point of view
Maybe it's just another light
that ultimately shines through
Am I the only one who knows these depths of you?
I look away every now and then,
I try to forget that I care
But every time I look back again
It's still only you there
I belong to no one else
I can't bring myself to that
I know I am to blame
but that doesn't make it hurt any less
I close my eyes and die
until your next surprise
But how quickly it is all over
and we're saying good-bye
Surely don't stay long and
I'm missing you before you're gone
It's like I told you before,
my priorities are all wrong.
I'll never close the door,
I'll always have my hope,
You may let me drift away
but my heart won't let you go.

brilliant, simple words so effectively put together.
these are the same feelings that kept me waiting and hoping for a man for three years. i hope it will work out for you as it fortunately has for me because those three years were the hardest of my life. |
