Ghosts
Voices beckon
Calling out our names
Voices we ignore
Answering them could be perilous
Whispers echo in my head
A distant conversation
Heard by those whom will never tell
They heard our confessions
Our wishes that night
Your voice
My euphony
You are my essence
You are the fog swirling at my feet
You are the frost that dissipates with my touch
You are within reach
But always out of grasp
You are the one...
Who I am in constant search of
You haunt me...
You want others to fear you
But I am undaunted in your presence
I walk through this sacred place alone
While others may think it blasphemous
I find only peace
Alone I see you
In transparent silhouette
Id give anything to collapse in you outstretched arms
But you are not there
Alone we are cursed
To see each other as we sat a years ago
To have that moment
That precious moment
That moment not acted upon
Our souls
Trapped
Until the leaves fall in the exact same spot
Trapped
Until the moonbeams hit her face
In just the right way
Trapped
Until she is wrapped in his warmth
Trapped
Our secret kept safe
Entrusted to the ghosts
Of the people we once were
Now the apparition of the two
Meet there each night
Hoping to get it right
Hoping the flesh appears
To make it real
Guarded by brick
And wrought iron gated
Only to can enter
And take the form of the mist
Only to can unite
To become what they miss
To become
What was once
Meant to be
