Hidden In My Pocket

Contributed by allforyou on Thursday, 3rd March 2005 @ 07:57:52 PM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

I don't understand what I'm thinking.
If I roll my eyes in the back of my head,
will I be able to see things more clearly?

I feel a burning sensation in my throat,
when I strum my vocal cords to speak to you.
Yeah, talking to you still hurts after all this time.

Is it even possible to resuscitate our love?
I believe it can be revived,
but you see us as buried (yeah, buried alive).

The tears that overwhelm me every night,
the song you wrote me that I'm playing tonight.
The ring hidden in my pocket,
your picture in my locket.
I wear both when absolutely no one's in my sight.

The breath has escaped my lungs, I'm choking on reality,
or is it just because you walked by?
I can't let you stay away from me.

A million shooting stars race through the sky,
and I make a million wishes to come true.
Maybe one will bring me to you.

I fall, I crash onto the pavement of your heart.
Open your eyes to the view,
I'm right in front of you.

The tears that overwhelm me every night,
the song you wrote me that I'm playing tonight.
The ring hidden in my pocket,
your picture in my locket.
I wear both when absolutely no one's in my sight.

Remember...
That sometime love means holding on...
Yet sometimes it means letting go...
Whether you keep it or move on...
Only your heart can truly know.

Nice poem! Keep writing!
