You knew my heart
You knew my soul
Right from the beginning
You made me whole,
You touched my hand
And read my mind
You saw in me
What I'd left behind,
You somehow knew
Just what to say
To make the tears
Stop every day,
You told me once
"You'll love me soon"
And though I doubted
Your words were true,
You knew that others
Would do me wrong
You knew the depths
Of my sad songs,
You watch my face
You watch my eyes
And see in me
Your worlds arise,
No one else
Comes close to you
When sky is black
You make it blue,
I see my future
Within your love
And everyday
I thank God above.
