Child, Man

Topic: oops

Child, Man

Child, man
You are to me
So complex

I look at you
I see the man
Yet I also see
The baby in my arms
Looking up to me

I loved you
more than you
will ever understand
my child, man

I wish I could
turn back the clock
and dry your tears
again

And hold you close
and smell your hair
hold tiny fingered
hands

But time,
perhaps the greatest evil
has run away
with you

And I am
left
with memories

Please take the time
to look and see
my silent
pleading eyes

I want my child
back again
to nuture
and to try

To make a difference
where I can
Yet I know
time marches on

So I will hold
you in my heart
and smile
when I can

For you will always
be so loved
my son,
my child, man.
