Meeting With Darkness

Walk into an empty house
The cold draft blows upon your face
You shiver because of the cold
And chills shoot down your spine
All around all you see is darkness
Find the stairs and slowly creep up
Squeaking with every step you take
The higher you go
The colder it gets
You hear a bang come from up above
Shrieking with fear you dart back down the stairs
Searching franctically for the door is when you hear
Someone coming down the stairs with a squeak from the steps
Grab the knob and turn hard
It breaks off and you realize you are stuck
Looking for a window
Nothing do you find
Fall to the ground and cry
That's when you hear the footsteps coming closer
Open your mouth to beg please
When a light shines upon you
A voice you hear speak
"Darling it's me"
