Kiss me goodbye

Contributed by subgenius on Monday, 7th March 2005 @ 01:15:16 AM in AEST
Topic: Suicide

In this room of crooked walls,
Nightmares never go away.
Grinding teeth through pressured smiles
Laughing minutes chase the days

"Dance with fire little boy,"
Satan whispers in his ear,
"Shut your mouth and close your eyes.
Maybe then you'll disappear."

Blissful memories and dreams,
Soon erased by violent thoughts.
Turn your back on family
Rooster crows, deny the cross.

Draw the windows, shut the lights.
Self operation begins
Mutilated self-esteem
Breathes through mutilated skin

I will open up the door
As I cross through the abyss
Just promise me the gift
Of one last goodbye kiss.

Kiss me goodbye

Wow.

Truthfully, I'm more inclined to read lost love poetry than suicide poetry... and I came here without noting the category. But you held my attention... you held me rapt.

This is a powerful piece... very well written and extremely well presented. I am really quite taken with this.

Impressed,
~SNM~
