Hearts Door

Inside my heart there is a door
That when its open, love is stored
A safe place to feel at home
A welcoming place for feelings to roam
Inside this heart no questions will be asked
Inside the door no entering tasks
All is worthy to enter in
All are welcome back again
But if you enter be at your best
For once this tired heart had to rest
For you see this heart had been battered and bruised
And it took a few years off from feeling used
Yet it healed in such a loving way
That now its door is open to stay
So if your heart is tired and sore
Wont you come inside my door

| That is such a great poem! The imagery is good, used in key places. The personification is amazing, while portraing such in so few of words. There are so many different feelings wrapped inside such short of poem! Great Write. |
