Ive done things I shouldnt have done,
Down lifes long and weary trail.
Ive made mistakes, Im humiliated to say,
That should send me straight to hell.
I cant even count the people that Ive hurt,
While on my pleasure ride.
Yet its God I hurt most every time,
With the sins that I try to hide.
Sometimes I just cant believe the trouble I find,
Though I do try my very best.
But what amazes me most is that for lives like mine,
God sent his very blessed.
He sent his son to die on that cross,
Because He knew we were bound to fail.
Jesus loved us enough to die for us,
To save our souls from hell.
And though Im not perfect, and never will be,
Theres one word I just cant wait to hear.
When He looks for my name in that Book of Life,
The word forgiven will have wiped my slate clear.
God realizes Im still human, still tempted by sin,
And mistakes, I will make while livin.
He devised a plan that was created by his love,
So that we all could be forgiven.
