all these years i've waited
for my world to stop spinning
for my insides to stop churning
passing the time any way that amuses me
always watching
never joining
forever reaching
searching,
needing
it's intangible
elusive
always just out of my grasp
still i try
i will always try
it hurts, and it burns
and it soothes and it heals
and it makes fools of us all
but still i yearn
for one touch of your hand
one smile from your lips
the sound of my name on your sigh
and it touches me
it takes hold of me
and i am never the same
