A Friend In Need Only Needs Love

Contributed by BabyLuby on Tuesday, 17th December 2002 @ 08:00:00 PM in AEST
Topic: InspirationalPoems

Like a solitary rose out of water your heart slowly withers and rots away.

Life alone,
Confusing as it may be helps you to regain your soul.

Your wounds heal and you move on.
But the stars in the moonlit sky remind you of the light she brought into your life

Solitude- impossible some might say
But you are not alone;
You have all the love of those around you
And that keeps you whole
More importantly, keeps you strong

Your heart now healing demands excitement
The way it used to be before love confused you
Left you out of balance,
And like a drug, left you needing more

As you come down from your high
You realise that the love you lost can be replaced by the love of a true friend

The night sky no longer seems empty without her
It again becomes clear
The lost star becomes entangled with thousands of other lonely stars
And together they become a galaxy

The love you felt was lost
But has now been replaced by a stronger, deeper love
This love is unconditional and will never leave.

The feeling of extacy and bliss is given back
And the happy care free days, long forgotten
Return and become your guiding light.
You are drawn toward the future,
Drawn to the prospect of a new and ever enduring love

The love now found was always there,
But never made itself so noticeable as it does to you now

As you become happy and content
The life within you grows
Your eyes are opened to a whole new world

This new world full of new prospects enthralws you
You leave all the hurt behind and begin new life
You break from your cocoon and become enlightened by those around you

The one and only thing that stays with you in your memory as you move forward
The need for love
The love for others and the love they have for you

You remember one thing that was said to you "A friend in need only needs love"
And this love is given to you
Selfless, free and always by your side
By your side like the midnight stars
Which once held so much pain now set you free

You are free to live your life with no pain, no regret
And more than anything leaves you free for new love...
