Thoughts of the past
linger in my mind
forgotten people, forgotten times
friends that have come and gone
families that have lived and died
all were hidden in my mind
truth begot by lies
dark shadows in once friendly eyes
betrayal by the most trusted
a great predator looks at me
fire a great pergatory
how quickly those eyes go out
now staring out i see
my demons are right in front of me
revealed in a mirror's reflection

Nothing is ever really forgoten., nor hidden from sight. All doubts and fears come out at night. That time when we are our own worst enemy. Face to face with ourself.
An enjoyable read, very well thought out and written.
