Beautiful Tiny Baby

He was born five weeks early
To the surprise of mom and dad
The doctor said to take a look
At this lovely little lad
When my eyes first looked upon you
It was love at first sight
This beautiful tiny baby
Wrapped in a sheet of pure white
From another room I could hear you crying
From feeling cold and all alone
For this was a different place
From the warmth that youve known
With your eyes barely open
You were brought back to our room
And placed in your mothers arms
As she sang you a little tune
I had to wait patiently
For my chance to hold you tight
When you were in my arms
Everything felt just right
For months Id only dreams
What this moment would be like
To experience it first hand
I couldnt be more psyched
You were more than just my son
More than just my flesh and bone
You represented the greatest form of love
In which Id ever know
From that moment I felt the importance
The was placed within our care
Of this beautiful little baby
That were blessed enough to share
Now in a few months youll be three
Im amazed at how youve grown
From this tiny little baby
On the day we brought you home
Youre now this gentle little man
With a heart so big and wide
How proud I am of you
Are feeling I dont want to hide
To say youve enriched my life
Would be the understatement of the year
For when Im showing you off
Im grinning from ear to ear
You remind me of being young
And you help me stay that way
Most times I have to call you on the phone
Just to get though the day
I have pictures of you all around
I catch myself staring at your face
Makes my heart kinda long
To be some other place
For when the five oclock bell rings
And the working day is done
There is no place Id rather be
Then home with my son
