ATONEMENT -MANKINDS ULTIMATE MISTAKE

Contributed by ForeverAndADay on Thursday, 24th March 2005 @ 06:17:10 PM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

This will never end unless you realize the world isnt out to get you.
Im tired of walking on hot irons, Im tired of always being wrong, and never having anything to balance on.
Im tired of people who think they know me better then I know myself, tired of being afraid I really dont.
Why do I always get stuck in the rain, It always rains so hard, then even though I spent so long taking swimming lessons, I find myself drowning.
No Great Loss

Do you ever hear the cries each individual tree makes as it hits the ground, the sound of the forest crying out when the roots leave the ground.
Do you ever hear the beautiful and lonely sound that comes out of the clouds.
The sound of someone touching down, whether rough or naught, Whether they burst into flames in the end, or just rot, leaving nothing but their memories behind.
To get caught in the gravel, and slowly break up, leaving the gravel stained
No Great Loss

I find myself wondering what it would be like to leave this world behind and never return.
Would I simply be erased from existence, would my identity be given up, will I be wiped from the memory of everyone who ever knew who I was.
Would my footsteps be torn from the cement, would my height chart be wiped of the walls.
Would all of the things I may of helped with become horrible strewn, or would all of the people I knew be better offNever knowing me at all
No Great Loss

Pebbles may be thrown in the water, rose peddles are crumbled and torn form their stem
People die every second only leaving a mark on who knew them very well, and people who have no one, will effect no one.
People who fall off of buildings or fall on their own knives or people who are killed at the hands of others, or all of the children accused of committing suicide.
When mankinds ultimate solution is to kill anything that has even a bit of a negative effect
Some silly mistake they must condone for (Be condemned for) so that all of the bodies in the world are not enough
In the end
No Great Loss

DNB

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
