We were young and proud. We were the glisten in the morning star We were the luster of the old mens beer We were our mothers pride But most of all we were solders
Our swords outshone the stars of night Our banners flew as the breeze W marched to the land of myth Where we bleed and boys fell
We grew to men in blood and mud We saw our brothers fall We us few answered the call We were young and proud But most of all we were solders
We came home to their cheers We drank and sang the loudest But threw it all I say the most We were all solders
We sit at home as time goes by We see the sunset and remember We touch our soil and hold it dear But we never forget were solders

This was an absolutely amazing write. I can see this means a lot to you, as does the same memory to many brave men that have served. You had me choked up at the end. My husband, father, uncle, Father in law, and all grandfathers were military. And Iknow each holds their memoried dear. Thank you for sharing this. |
