Trying To Be Strong...Drenched In Rain

You didn't cry
As I held you close
I felt you shudder
But no tears came

You didn't lie
When I asked for the truth
I didn't need to hear it
From you it wasn't the same

No reply came
When I told you I love you
Your lips parted
But no words to claim

Standing in the rain
There was no laughter
Why smile,
with so much pain?
