Those inn0cent eyes,
Though young they were
Saw Daddy beat her mom at night.
Those inn0cent eyes,
Though crying they were
Had to hide from him in her own fright.
Those inn0cent eyes,
Though tired they were
Looked up into the heavens every day.
Those inn0cent eyes,
Thoughtful they were
Pleaded along as she knelt down to pray.
Those inn0cent eyes,
Now tear filled
Watched as Mommy cried and cried.
Those inn0cent eyes,
Wondering, now
Did ask and then her Daddy lied.
Those inn0cent eyes,
Though small they were
Watched as her Daddy was arrested that day.
Those inn0cent eyes,
Though naiive they were,
Now wait to see what her life will display.
