Could this actually be true? Could I actually be the only one, in this high school student lounge, constantly thinking about the future? Am I too uptight? Am I missing out on opportunities?
I feel as if I'm constantly thinking about tomorrow, and it seems that everyone else has a blueprint for their tomorrows. But at the same time, they're not thinking of their futures. They're living in the moment.
...I wish I could live in the moment...
...What has happened to me?
...What happened to the teenager in the mirror, that I knew a year ago...

Are you lowering your value in your eyes, for no reason? The title is a bit of a stretch, more so your reason for it, but the meaning can shed a light on the whole poem. The poem itself shows what you are meaning to say (every line is pointing to a feeling of lonely insecurity about the future), but the obscure title draws the most attention.
P.S. If it ever seems I know what I'm doing, consider how many paths I'm taking on. Then know this: I have a ton of ideas, none of which I feel I can dedicate myself to fully or that for certain I will enjoy them & my life. |
