Gifts We May Give

Its time again Christmas is near
Life seems filled with laughter and cheer.
The sparkling lights, the girls and boys
With their hopes and lists of Christmas toys

The hustle and bustle, we deck the halls
And make our way through shopping malls.
Finding only to stop and pause
And watch the children with Santa Clause.

With all that goes on, such a busy time
There are many things that come to mind.
With so much cheer, joy and yet
Im afraid there are things we tend to forget.

As we open the presents this Christmas morn
Remember the children whose families are torn.
Children who may receive nothing at all,
Sure that Santa forgot to call.

During that Christmas dinner this year
Pray for the homeless with no Christmas cheer.
Those with illness no hope in sight
Pray for their health this Christmas night.

Its a busy time, a busy day
And as night falls children tucked away.
The day has ended the wrappings torn,
Remember this day a child was born.

A child named Jesus, who taught us to pray
He became our light to guide the way.
A child who died so that we may live
He gave us this Christmas, so these Gifts we may give.
