Beat Of Defeat

Contributed by SimplyMe on Monday, 4th April 2005 @ 04:10:19 AM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

I'm so sick of giving my heart away for free
If you want it that badly rip it right out of me
Rip it right from my chest
Everybody knows feeling pain is what i do best

Reach your hand in and dig deep
Whatever you may find is yours to keep
Be sure to make it my fatality
God knows the last thing i want to face is reality

Behind my heart lies pain concealed
Once it's gone all is revealed
Years of isolated fears
And hours of constant tears

For years i have loved in vein
Slowly pulling me from this thing called sane
Falling into the arms of the unloved
Into a pool of hate i am shoved

Hatred consumes my soul
Spreading it to others is my lifetime goal
You may call me insane
But for years i have loved in vein

For me there is nothing left
With this love take my last breath
Stop my heart from it's final beat
Give me this early defeat

A thought provoking dark write Alucia. I love it. A very good 1st attempt at dark poetry. The imagery used is sensational. A wonderful write. Well done.
Hugs,
Sue

I think I understand where the speaker is coming from, I often bottle things up and they just keep swirling and growing till i find a way to release it.
