my beloved one
you called me sweet one day
do you remember?
you taught me sweetness was in souls
not sugar
my beloved one
you raised your voice to me one day
do you remember?
you taught me true fear was in disapproval
not under the bed
where so called monsters roam
you taught me who real monsters are
my beloved one
i hurt you once
do you remember?
i apologized over and over again
till my voice ached
and i could no longer speak
my beloved one
i said i loved you one day
do you remember?
you stared at me
you turned your back to me
and you taught me
that love did not linger in words
but in actions
