Slimy thick muck of spring sucks at my feet Trying to steal my shoes Walking deep into the pasture Where plenty will arise, if I can wait til June The dogs run ahead wagging muddy tails Proclaiming their independence Rivulet runs across the stone wall Trying to find its way to a river Dreaming of the sea
