life is weird

*************************

you can't see inside my skin
don't know just where i've been
i've been waiting so long
for you to show

never thought i'd see you there
your smell is still in my hair
and i taste the salt of my dried tears

wondering what i did wrong
always singin the same old song
and i can't change
even if you asked me to

never been down this road before
wonder who is keepin score
and what tricks i've pulled
if you've fallen

a thousand open eyes are staring
eyes beyond eyes are glaring
reading what we've done
lying to cover my lies

no one is special, no one is singled out
someone in my head starts to shout
like the ancestors that burned life at the stake

dreaming of a perfect life
always losing out in life
wondering what kind of life
i will learn to live

everyone wants life to be perfect
i want life to be fun
life can be very pointless
when you're the only one

falling down from my pedestal
but still higher than you soar
maybe we're on different levels
but who is keeping score?

my ancestors burned life at the stake
at the stake my life was burned
don't burn another life at the stake
at the stake
at the stake

Such a sad poem. I have felt like that before... Life is rough like that... But have faith... Feel free to pm me, I'll gladly lend an ear for you.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
