The beast is caged & locked within, Never allowing his reign of terror to begin, I hear him roar in the dead of the night, To keep him hidden is a constant fight.
He once ruled me & my life, Making me believe I was depressions wife, That I was worthless & that nobody cared, Deep into my dark soul he stared.
He is powerful & takes pleasure in killing, He laughs as he sees your blood spilling, He has killed many others you see, & this hideous creature stays inside me.
I can hear him as he tries to escape, My damaged mind he often tries to rape, I am at his mercy as he takes control, I beg him not to once again steal my soul.
I struggle to keep him contained, As my sanity is already bruised & stained, His temper has taken its toll on my mind, Never a way out of this nightmare can I find.

A really good poem, I really like this one. The way you deal with the beast as your demons is clever and very well versed with excellent rhyme.
Good Job!

Pixie this is a thought provoking immensely dark poem. Depression is hard to contain, but hang tuff my friend. You're doing a really good job. I'm here for u my friend.
Otherwise a sad, but very well conveyed piece of poetry.
Hugs,
~Sue~ |
