glitter and gasoline
They don't love your sparkle anymore they all see that you're just a whore they don't want to feel the burn no baby, now it is your turn
You sit there so serene do you understand what i meen have you figured out there's no use to pout?
Glitter and gasoline you are no beauty queen your imaginary tiara has been ripped off now at your vulnerability we all scoff
You were never who we wanted you to be you were just eye candy for us to see a dissapointent to say the least on our temporary ignorance your sickness did feast
You thought you had the world in a jar that we'd never find out you really are (no shining star, just a fading scar) but glitter you wash away quick and gasoline your fire will burn out like a wick
So sit down drama queen you may be glitter and gasoline but you can no longer fake that smile you can no longer live in denial
The pain you keep is to great to hide and we are no longer along for the ride you can try to choke back those tears that been hiding behind fake eyelashes all these years
But we see you naked here tonight no need to put up a fight give up and give in you are destroyed outside and within
So now baby throw away your dream you are nothing but glitter and gasoline washing away in your own tears burnt out by you own fears
You've lost all your pawns in your deceitful game glitter and gasoline... what a shame.

I've always admired you're honesty when it comes to your poems.
I really liked this sort a part 2, and yet it's only a conclusion of a never ending story.
You were never who we wanted you to be
you were just eye candy for us to see
a dissapointent to say the least
on our temporary ignorance your sickness did feast
I loved that part the best, i've been thru that and i know what you meant.

Hey Joce,
I liked this one as much as the first...they are so raw and so captivating..I especially liked this stanza:
So now baby throw away your dream
you are nothing but glitter and gasoline
washing away in your own tears
burnt out by you own fears
I thought the words were perfect and the flow was wonderful.
Chin up Jocelyn! It does get better.

You are an excellent writer,
you simply kick @$$.
I'm glad to be reminded you have
a real talent.
And better still it's real cool stuff,
not the kind of pretentious wordy bs
some snobs think is the only kind of poetry.

Such a strong poem sweet one. I loved it just like the first. The ending is sad, but the poem holds truth. I'm here for you always!!! |

"The pain you keep is to great to hide

Wow what a stanza and a poem in general. I
didn't get the part about the gasoline, but I
thought this was a very melancholy poem but
I hope it allowed you to expunge some
tormenting thoughts. I hope you are feeling
better than you were before.
