I hate sunshine
So bright, carefree
Full of life, joy, spirit
That's not what life is for me
Life is harsh, life is unfair
Life kicks you when you are down
Life hurts, and life burns
Trapped underwater as you slowly drown
I used to believe in beauty
Until I saw I was a freak
I used to believe in strength
Until I found I was truly weak
I used to believe in love
Until I discovered the Hell it leaves
I used to believe in good people
Until I recognized how much they all hate me
I used to believe in saying "I'm sorry!"
Until I discovered that it's perceived as a lie
I used to believe in following my dreams
Until I failed so miserably I wanted to die
I used to believe in the beauty of life
Until I lost the one I loved
I used to believe in happiness
Until I discovered what pain does
I used to believe in innocence
Until I lost that too
I used to believe that in trusting others
Until I saw what that could do
I still have faith in God
But at this rate, will that faith remain??
Life has beaten me to the ground
And I've been overcome by my pain.

I have felt this way before, so much, and I can deeply feel these words.
Just look to that God you fear losing faith in... that faith needs to be the source of your strength, the agent to remove bitterness. |
