A Little Lie

Contributed by twisted_dreams on Thursday, 14th April 2005 @ 07:03:41 PM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

As I sit here mad at myself
I try to figure out why
Why I made you hurt so bad
And the only way out was to lie

I really didnt mean to hurt you
And to sit and see your tears
I try and try to apologize
But when i look at you, I see your deepest fears

I know now, that were over
And i wish i could take you back
To know what youll be okay
But the pride to do that is something I lack

It's better now, if were friends
But thats not what i want to be
I want to be perfect again
And a couple everyone can see

If it werent for that one night
That i did those horrible things to you
We's still be together
As happy as we used to be

But I have to move on
And live life on my own
Thinking about you everyday
Hoping youll never be alone

This is sad, but really refreshing! Usually poems I read about losing someone they love are about how they hope that the other person realizes what they lost, but this was cool because you want whats best for the other person! Great write, really nice to read, thanks for posting it

It's an OK poem though you're acting like you want him back but then again you don't. All I get is mixed emotions. Keep trying.
