Midnight Fancy
Alone in his study he heard nothing but the tick, tick, tick, of the clock
In his hands he held a book of poems He read of love and longingly wished he, would be so blessed
The only answer to his wish the tick, tick of the clock
She cried herself to sleep
Alone in a strange land she longed for love to save her
Surely the kind woodsman and his wife would care for her but for how long
How long until that blackhearted beast hunted her down and claimed her as his own
She slept fitfully with dreams in which fairies danced and led her to her one true love
He must have dozed the embers barely glowed and the book lay at his feet
The tick, tick of the clock reminding him the hour was late
He heard the clock grow silent as he stoked the fire adding more wood
The embers flew up like fairy dust shimmering in the wind
Turning to see the clock he saw her young, beautiful and sleeping fitfully upon his floor
The clock resumed its tick, tick, tick
He wondered, but would n'er question the fates that had brought her to him
He knew it only as a gift as he looked on her with love
She turned in her sleep warmed, by the fire
Fire! Her eyes flew wide for the woodman had no hearth in her small room
She gazed then into the eyes of another into her destiny
And as a smile crept across her face She heard the tick, tick of the clock.
Carol

Your style is astonishing... i feel the deja vous of myself... it reminds me greatly of a style i have used frequently myself.
Look at the poems Typeclick, Pontificative Transparent, Blue Eyes Blacklight Crucifix, StrobeRed...
I'd go on but as I think of it... ive near 150 poems... i couldn't possibly continue reccomending...
