Unfathomable Ache
It is an impossible thing to explain. How someone is taken from life and placed either above or below us. How we are expected to get over it so easily, just set it behind us like it never happened. But what they dont understand is that it is never that simple. To forget someone that you have loved and lost to death, you cant just let something like that go. The incomprehensible pain that is left for us to endure the feeling is inexplicable. Oh, unfathomable ache, would you let me be? So full of remorse and compunction are those left behind. Couldnt you have spared her life and just taken mine? Oh, impenetrable grief, why must I live? Give me Novocain to numb the feeling inside. Drain the pressure that Im forced to hide. You ask me to remember all the good times that we had while she was here. But that only hurts me more to recognize that I will never see her smile again. That she will never be able to experience what I will. That everything she had lived for was worth nothing, it was all stolen away from her with her life. Oh, unfathomable ache, why cant you leave? The absence of that brightening face leaves me in sorrow. Knowing that I will not see her again tomorrow Oh, inconceivable woe, shall you laugh at me again? With taking her life all our lives you distort. Im afraid that her life was much too short

I love this one, too.
It's so sad though. I hope it's not true and that it's just poem.
I like the style of this, it's really very good.
Great write,
*hugs* Phil xxx |

Having never suffered that kind of loss, any comments I make here should be considered in that context. Still, while others try to console those who have lost someone with advice to remember the good, I would think you are right to feel that only makes things worse. Psychiatrists would probably say that you are entitled to your grief and that you should grieve that loss, otherwise it will always be with you. I would think the shrinks are probably right. Still, in your case, where there is so much to grieve in life, I don't know. |

i totally relate to this poem, i lost someone i had waited for my whole life, he knew he wasn't going to be here long, he needed a heart transplant, he couldn't get one, he died in my arms march 10- 2003. i didn't think i could go on but i have, i still talk to him and feel his presence around me, the bottom line is he knew that i loved him and i know that even in death nothing changes that,of course i miss him terribly but being human i am selfish in wanting him here, cause i know that he would not come back here even if he could there is nowhere on this earth that is more beautiful and serene than where he is now and for that i am happy for him , and when it's my time to go i know i will see him again. hang in there, iv'e read your poetry it's realy good, writing seems to cathartic for you as it is for many poets, just try to remember that despite all the sorrow life is worth living. |
