Dont knock me because im wearing black So what im not wearing a mini skirt or flashing my but crack Dont judge me by my looks or my messy brown hair Theres a person underneath cmon please be fair Im not gonna let people tell me who to be Im not gonna try to be anyone else but me So if you like it or not I dont really care Go stare at my cuffs and the dark things I wear I dont really wanna stand out so ill slouch and hide I wear black because thats how I feel inside

Awsome! I know exactly how you feel. My older sister is the preppiest thing i know and she just guns me down every time i see her. She doesnt understand how it feels to so underly sad that you dont even want to look at people who are smiling. Great write!

I wrote a poem with the same theme
when I was younger.
It was here on YPDC last year,
I actually rewrote it.
Some things never change.
Even as an adult people still mock.
Only difference now is
I kick ass.

I liked this one... there is a subtle mood in it's form. These feelings of not fitting in, being strung out from all the rest are normal- we all get it. Glad you realize how important individuality is, without it we're everyone else. |
