WHEN YOUR EMPTY INSIDE
ALL YOU WANT TO DO IS DIE
WHEN YOU HAVE RUINED EVERYTHING IN YOUR LIFE
WHEN YOUR BELOVED HUSBAND HATES HIS WIFE
WHEN YOU HAVE NOONE TO CAll ON THE PHONE
WHEN YOUR HOUSE IS NEVER A HOME
WHOS FAULT YOU ASK, KNOWING IT IS ONLY YOUR OWN
WHEN NOONE UNDERSTANDS WHY YOUR SICK
WHEN YOUR OWN MOTHER CALLS YOU A WITCH
WHEN THE INSANITY ONLY GETS WORSE
WHEN SOME PEOPLE SAY YOUR LIFE IS CURSED
WHEN COURAGE AND WISDOM HAVE DISAPPEARED
WHEN EVERYTHING YOU'VE LEARNED IS NO LONGER HERE
WHEN YOUR ONLY FEELINGS ARE HURT AND PAIN
WHEN ONLY BAD THOUGHTS AND MEMORIES FEEL YOUR BRAIN
WHEN EVERYTHING YOU SEE IS DINGY AND GREY
WHEN YOU CAN NO LONGER KEEP THE DARKNESS AT BAY

| This is a wonderful poem. I can relate to the pain too. If you consider depression a mental illness (which it is) I to have a mental illness. I've felt the pain so often in life that I too feel like I should die, but I look to the sky and think about the good things in life, like my friends. I love my friends! Jenny |
