celebrities
like crocheting a big
white
snowy blanket
they grow and glow and grow
as we mind every knot and gap
and stain
dragging names through the mud
that warm feeling in our hearts
then,
when the last stitch has ended a row
and the blanket is full of
cleverly woven stories galore
and they are dead,
whether young or old, small or big
we wash them clean and pure and white again
so that we can pretend
we don't mind/admire/forgot the dirt
just those shining fibers
remain.
