The era of madness is ending
Of a dumbo controlled by the hawks
He degraded instead of defending
And spoke with a mouth full of rocks
A primitive man was made to sing
From a hymn sheet full of hate
Hed rather play golf and improve his swing
His talents so third rate
He and his people spread their lies
Manipulating a peoples' grief
As the world looked on and did despise
This extremist and election thief
But his sorry ass is in retreat
As we see the consequence grave
Of neocon dreams in defeat
And he their perpetual slave
The people at home see through this man
At last! Its taken so long...
He has done the harm that he can
They see at last he was wrong
The era of madness is ending
Finally winding down
A saner America averting
Looking like an evil clown
The truer America will now emerge
The tried and trusted sense
No more teetering on the verge
Of torture by way of defence
The bedrock of American beauty
The easy going charm
The strength of character and duty
Suffered no permanent harm
The era of madness is ending slow
It wont happen overnight
All ugly influences will surely go
As America sees whats right
She should not remain a pariah
She has so much more to give
By rejecting this false messiah
She will surely begin to live
We will look back in wonder
That such madness had support
Every Bush failure and blunder
That should have been hauled to court
Well breathe the deepest sigh of relief
As we start the process of mending
All the lies told that abused our grief
The era of madness is ending

| I wish man. Some of these folks over here worry me. There are still a lot of Bush supporters....we need to overthrow this government.....better not say it too loud, hell they'll jail me for speaking against my government....Hee Hee. I have sent letters to the white house....I'm sure I'm on the list. LOL I friggen hope so. Peace, laura |

| A poem well written but I do not think it is ending but only the beginning. Sad. Yet your poem leaves me with the memories of how it once was before all this madness. :) |
