Do you want to hear a secret? Remember when we met? On the phone? Well, the truth is, I loved talking to you. After our first conversation, I knew that you were someone, Who was easy to talk to. Just for the heck of it, I kept the phone by my side. Just in case you called. I liked the idea, that someone was actually listening to me, When Matt wouldnt. So every day after that, When I got home from school, Id watch TV and sit by the phone, waiting to see If you had anything to say. I even told Amanda how much I loved talking to you. With every day, And every conversation, I forgot about him more and more, And used my memory on you.
To this day, Baby, When I get home, I go straight to the phone to see if you called. And if you didnt, Then I wait by that phone, Hoping youll let me hear your beautiful voice. Ive probably waited by that phone thousands of times by now. And thousands are yet to come. For even if you leave me, in the future, Ill still come home after work, And sit by the phone, Waiting for you to call.
And when God takes you, Thats still where I know Ill be; Sitting by the phone, Hoping that hell let you call me from heaven.
