Whisper the wishes that wake you
Tell me the desires that come with the dawn
Show me where these thoughts take you
When the night finally moves itself on
As day breaks, I wait - unresisting
Longing for your touch on my skin
So close your eyes, baby and kiss me
Then tell me, so we might begin
For as we lay quietly sleeping
A solitary dream filled the night
I dreamt that as dawn came creeping
Our passion broke free with the light
In my mind's eye I saw us undaunted
I saw the world disappear for a time
And we had everything we ever wanted
For your wishes, truly... were mine.
So whisper the wishes
that wake you
And then -
Let's make each one come true
'Cause, baby
You're everything I ever wanted
And I just want to be that... for you

Whoosh!!!! That’s what you do to me when I read your poems. This was just written beautifully with its gorgeous message this was just incredible.
The ending stanza was just romantically put I just love it.

Absolutely wonderful! The flow was almost like a song and the rhymes were perfect...the descriptions vivid. A perfect piece of prose my friend! Bravo!

I realize by now that I may be beginning to sound like a broken record as I have been reading my "book of Silent-No-More" :-) yet I still feel I must say it.....again.
You write the most beautiful love poems.
There aren't enough adjectives to describe this one. Beautiful, exquisite, sensual, lovely....the list continues with nothing bad noted :-)
Awesome to say the least.

P.S. Worry not, I haven't forgotten 1967 ;-) I would like to read it after I have read Dorothy Parker's For A Lady Who Must Write Verse. :-)
P.S.S. The opening line to this poem is brilliant and then the rest just glues the readers eyes to the screen. Definitely a thrill to read! |
