Mixed emotions running thru my mind
Have I moved on finally?
Or am I just blocking out the pain?

He tells me he loves me
But is what he says really true?
Im so afraid to let someone in again
Im so afraid to get hurt once more

He has always been there for me
To bring a smile to my face
To talk my worries away
To hug and kiss me when I need him the most

But am I ready to let someone new in?
Am I ready to fall in love again?
Im holding off on saying those words back
Im not going to say them till I know I mean them
Those 3 words I dont throw around lightly anymore

You mean a lot to me
You are the first person I run to with a problem
You are my safe place, you make me feel secure in your arms
You kiss away my tears and wipe the hair from my face

I find myself battling feelings in my heart
I think its because Im scared to let someone back in
So Im finding reasons to push you away
Even though I dont realize this

Dont get frustrated with me
Dont let me push you away if you love me
Fight for me and prove that what you say is real
Show me love that I wont doubt
Prove to me that you wont break my heart

Im not purposely doing this
Im not trying to hurt you
Im just trying to protect my heart from breaking again

So if you love me, be patient
Bear with me while I open up to the idea of love once more
Give me time, its not going to happen overnight
Just be honest and loyal
No secrets, no lies

Overtime my heart will open
One day it may be yours
But its all a matter of time
Love will always be there
So there is no rush, no need to jump into anything

So dont get frustrated
Dont let me push you away
Fight for me if you love me
Prove to me you wont hurt me
Eventually I will say I love you too!!
