Just One Minute

Contributed by Aquaelius on Friday, 6th May 2005 @ 09:17:50 AM in AEST
Topic: SadPoetry

I only need one minute to forget you,
Just one to erase all our history.
One minute to not think about us;
one to forget all this pain.

But I fall back into you,
And I'm in your arms... the dim light outlining your face.
And all I can do is stare, stare and wonder:
How did heaven allow such a beautiful angel to come to earth.

Yet I only need one moment to forget you,
Just one embrace from another's arms,
Just one kiss from another's lips.
One caress to forget all this pain.

But I fall back into you,
And I see those eyes... a quaint smile puckering your lips.
They stare through me searching for my soul.
And in them lies the true meaning of my life: You.

Oh, in my world we've built so much.
Towering cities and long bridges.
We've moved mountains and crossed oceans.
Touched stars.
But ultimately in the end,
it only takes one minute of forgetfulness,
to end all my pain.

Hmmm...I like this.

I hate the feeling though, of loving someone but sort of wanting to get away...

If only I were like that, unfortunatly, I can't just forget things like that, myself.

Great write, your feeling are shown well.

Great write,
*hugs* Phil xxx

Interesting, how torn between two feelings this piece is. I suppose love can definitely make one feel so - it's interesting to capture it in verse. Very well written.
