SPIT IN MY FACE

Contributed by jyssvw on Friday, 6th May 2005 @ 03:12:38 PM in AEST
Topic: oops

I talked to her again today
First time in a year
The day she quite me
Was the exact moment I feared

Her voice sounded so calm
As if there was never anything wrong
As if she wasnt concerned
Of the matter for which I had called

She spoke like it was yesterday in june
For a split second I just assumed
She had been here with me all along
That she never left and this was just a dial-tone

She asked me how I was doing
I replied just fine and dandy
My emotions suddenly began brewing
Her voice sweet like chocolate candy

But, from the other room across the hall
A new voice I could barely discern
Then she told me about her new love
I fumbled and dropped the cordless phone

I had called her number unintentionally
A misdialed blunder, potentially
For a split second I hoped she would come back to me
Shes doing just fine now, apparently

As I sit here and reflect on each and every word
I dream of one more minute of her face
A beautiful girl, but she had no heart
This was also a beautiful Earth at the very start

Perhaps next year she may ring me accidentally
Maybe in a decade, she could finally break free
Or on a cool summers eve maybe in the next century
Ill answer my phone drunk in a bar in rural Kentucky

I have no words for this... Flawless, beautiful, and heart-breaking... I'm sorry for you pain, my friend. All my love. Forever,

Your speechless and admiring friend,

Stephy. *more soon!* *hugs*

Jyss this is so sad!!! You need to move on though...It's been too long. If you stay looking to the past you may miss something worthy standing before you. This is such a stripped down, honest write, and it's heartbreaking to read.
Scorp.
