Just a little Lonely

It's not spring fever
It's not jealousy
Of seeing affectionate people
Wander the world happily
It's not feeling left out
Or wanting to fit in
I'm just kind of lonely
IS that such a sin?
I know I don't need a guy
To help me to belong
But I long for companionship
Is that honestly so wrong?
This is the time
To declare my independence
It was declared long ago
With an impact that was tremendous
So why deep inside
Do I have to want more
More than just family and friends
I want someone to adore
You can't help your feelings
You can't control your heart
But your heart can control you
Or at the least tear you apart
You can't help feeling lonely
Wishing it would pass
That you deep longing
Will just go away fast
You can't stop your heart
From not wanting to go alone
Wanting someone to help you through life
Because it's so tough on your own
