To surrender so completely A breath given as ground Such is the pain I seek I feel...
It is agony that keeps us from life But it is the same that keeps us alive These wounds are self inflicted Scars taken for another Our bruised pride holds me still
And I know what is true What was the heart of strength Now whispers as dying embers do Everything I had Everything I had abandoned Was lost in you
Still so precious the peal of your voice I hold onto this for it keeps me alive As weak as I am Through unclouded eyes now I see This was your final gift to me

*tilts her head, inquisitively...yet mostly in awe*
I much admired the use of personification.
"the heart of strength...now whispers as dying embers"
*sighs...eyes dreamy within their sockets*
"The peal of your voice"...
mmm..attentive in detail.
Beautiful.
