My hands are crutches for the mind,
Decreasing the burden in my throat,
A lump so thick it burns, unswallowed,
The first half of a heart transplant,
Veins and arteries pulled and ripped,
Like electrical cords out of power sockets,
The last fizz of life is sparked momentarily,
A heavy red current, inundates each lung,
The earth pulls me closer in embrace,
To hear my final secrets,
Mental photography tells the story,
Playing about me in beautiful tune,
But memories are they just,
An album filled with life,
The pages blow open,
Fluttering viciously with the wild,
Tearing down the middle,
Let them be taken away,
To cease my tormented world,
My heart, burnt to cinders,
Chafes in my chest,
Like sand on sunburnt skin,
Let life flow out, every last drop,
So I may sleep now, and wake in sunshine
Warmed and kissed, my skin rubbed red,
My bones no longer clunking together,
In my vague structure of a person.
