wasting in the last flush of something she called love
her last chance to touch the sky
she found him to her liking
so much so she said the words
I love you
over and over
desparate mantra
wondering if he felt the same way
or was it a game they played
to beat the boredom of middle age
slip some excitement into the dull afternoons
she couldn't be sure
she could only feel the texture of his lips on hers
see the sapphire eyes that lit up when she walked in
still she was reluctant to believe
stroking her own ego with his compliments
playing coy games with him
it was so delightful
she wanted it to be real
forever

Great write and if you turn this poem on it's side you will see a fish. The saphires part of the poem was really cool and ironically (not making a joke) it goes with the fish theme. (yes I'm a little wierd), sorry. Great write.
On a more poetic note your themes were well put together and for free verse this was one of the best poems I have read today. |

good poem, you was able to take me with you in the poem, and I like that about poems, I don't like the ones that are real difficult to follow, so great job, and keep writing.
