Sidelined

Sidelined.

Sidelined by a morning thought,
A wish that wipes my eyes,
Memories show the grief I bought,
Grasping broken ties,

I wake and hope my heart is healed,
My pride reduced to ash,
My pillow now becomes my shield,
This cheque too high to cash,

Every dog has that one day?
I hope that myth rings true,
When last lines know not what to say,
Why do I still love you?

The truth shes not beside me here,
Keeps this blindfold on,
Why cant I sleep straight for one year?
Where has Miss Rowley gone?

Wept at birth as for a glance,
I saw my future wince,
The moment passed as did the dance,
Been weeping ever since.

Awwwwww this is so sad! But it has a great rhythmic beat to it that makes the words dance off the page. I think you're going to be a "favorite" on this site in no time! I like you already! :-)

Great write. Reading it aloud is almost like a tounge twister but it goes together well.
